Reading the tags
- PLA
- The Pokémon can be hunted directly with this method. Every method's tag matches its code in the original guide.
- E·SOS
- E — Evolve route. The method can't find this Pokémon directly — hunt its pre-evolution, then evolve it.
- $·U-W
- $ — Soft reset. A static or gift encounter in this game (mostly legendaries) — save in front of it and reset until it shines.
- SV·✦DLC
- ✦DLC. Requires that game's expansion content.
What's the Shiny Charm?
The Shiny Charm is a key item awarded for completing a game's Pokédex. Just having it in your bag roughly triples your shiny odds in most games, which is why every method above lists its odds both with and without it. It's a grind to earn, but it pays for itself on every hunt afterward.
Always double-check availability before a long hunt — version exclusives aren't factored in, and a few pools (SOS especially) are messy by nature.
